African Culture and Language

According to Ngugi Wa Thiongo:  "What must colonizers do in order to control a colonized people mentally? They have to destroy the colonized people's culture, including their literature and  language . The colonizers established their language as the most important one to speak and know" To discontinue this siege mentality that enslaved us, some of us still reinforce it.  That's within us, we do underestimate our language by putting the European one in high esteem instead of ours.  Can we say the Westernized Atmosphere is progressive? Yes. But there is still need to discontinue the belief that African people are  primitive, hungered, retrogressive, ignorant and people with invaluable language.
